Special Education

The mission of the special education department at RRMS is to prepare our students to be successful when they graduate from the district.  We expect them to have a plan for achieving their post-secondary goals. Accordingly, we provide a continuum of services and supports. Students in our Crossroads Program receive instruction in functional skills as well as academic skills. Community-based instruction remains an important part of that program. Students in our resource program receive focused skills instruction within the district curriculum. Our collaborative program places a special education teacher in the classroom to co-teach and provide appropriate accommodations and supports.

Throughout our program we emphasize student engagement and accountability, partnerships with parents, and student self-advocacy.
