National Junior Honor Society
Overview
Membership is an honor which shall be based upon scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities. To be eligible for membership in this school, candidates must have been in attendance for a period equivalent to one semester. To be academically eligible, candidates must be members of the 7th or 8th grade class. These candidates shall have a minimum cumulative scholastic average of 96.00 (to two decimal places, unrounded).
Eligibility for membership also includes a faculty rating of candidates' service, leadership, and character. Service qualifications will be evaluated from participation in/contribution to the school and community which are done with or on behalf of others without any direct financial or material compensation to the individual performing the service. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of leadership attributes and/or activities in school and/or the community. Candidates must demonstrate exemplary character through respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
